Congrats to Buena Girls' Soccer & Basketball for securing the Channel League Championship!
First, our Girls Soccer Team traveled to second place Oxnard, who was upset-minded after a 1-0 defeat earlier in the season. Buena jumped out to an early lead and the Yellowjackets fought back but ultimately fell to the mighty Bulldogs 4-2! Buena Girls Soccer, led by Trish Butterbaugh, finishes the season as undefeated Channel League Champions! Overall record 14-6-2 (12-0-2 Channel League).
Later that evening, our Girls Basketball Team headed across town to the rival Cougars of Ventura High School, who were sitting in first place. A back-and-forth contest went to overtime, but our Bulldogs prevailed 64-61 and earned a share of the League Championship with our rivals. Buena Girls Basketball, led by Trevor Payan, are Co-League Champs! Overall record 23-4 (13-1 Channel League).
Both teams await playoff brackets, which will be released on February 8. Congratulations to the student-athletes and their coaches!

Buena offers tutoring services for students after school on Mondays from 2:45-4:15PM and before school on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:20AM. Tutoring is in the HUB and students do not need to sign up in advance.
